Friday Coffee Chat

Happy Friday! I’m so excited to announce I am finally going to Minnesota! 😂 I haven’t been home in three months. Like what is happening. There’s just been so much going on and then the most recent day I was going to go, we got a snowstorm. So it’s just been constantly being pushed back. But alas, the time has come. And I couldn’t be happier! Unfortunately I get to start the trip with a dentist appointment first thing. I had a root canal filling pop out the other day (thanks to my 4 year old lovingly giving me a tootsie roll) and out here, it takes weeks to get in anywhere. So I managed to get an appointment in Minnesota. Serious downside to our area. The dental clinics are just ridiculous. But after that, it will be an amazing week! I don’t have many plans besides visiting my family, going to get crumbl cookie, caribou drive thrus, target runs, and a visit to my dads grave. And that is all that makes me happy.

So, I recently discovered, like last week, the most fabulous thing. You guys know how much I love donut shops. And it’s pretty dismal here in that category. We have one and it’s nothing to write home about. It’s sad. But! I found this lady here that makes the most ridiculously delicious donuts. From sourdough. And she fills them with cream. Today was my first try, I ordered them earlier this week.

I got 3 cookies n cream, 3 strawberries n cream, and 3 Nutella. Add in an iced white maple mocha, heaven on earth. I couldn’t be happier. You guys cannot even comprehend my joy. It’s just the little things you know! I think she also sells sourdough bread and bagels. I make my own bread, but the bagels I might have to try as well! She’s on Instagram @sarahs_sourdough so check it out if you’re local!

This week I read three new books! Sunday I read “It Starts With Us” by Colleen Hoover. It’s the sequel to “It Ends With Us”, so you’ll need to read that one first. This book was just as good as the first! I love the characters and their love. It’s so heartwarming. I feel like I’m constantly bombarded with sad relationships and mean people, so this one was just lovely. And before you ask me where I have time to read, I get asked that all the time, I am a fast reader and typically read when my baby is napping and then all evening long once the kids are in bed.

The next one I read was “Deep Water” by Emma Bamford. Such a good story. Another thriller! I love thrillers that take place on islands in paradise and that’s what this one was. It’s about love, trust, and working as a team. When you’re in a desolate place, emotions run high and things aren’t always what they seem. I highly recommend that one!

After that, I read “The Prisoner” by B.A. Paris. She is one of my faaavorite authors and I was so excited to get this one. I’d preordered it back in September, and it came this week! I read this one in one evening. Started at 9pm and finished shortly before 2am. It was that good. She’s got such skill for keeping you reading and needing to know what happens next! I did kind of figure it out halfway through, but it was fun to watch the main character figure it out. I think I’m reading too many thrillers, I’ve become like a detective. Im not too into writing book reviews because honestly you can just read the back of the book. 😂 But I will say, read the book.

Anyway, back to my house purging. I’m working on getting rid of everything not worn or used. And I mean everything. It’s a wonderful feeling. Hope you all have a great weekend!
