Growing up, the nights when we’d order domino’s was such a thrill. It didn’t happen too often, but when it did, it always put everybody in such a good mood. I swear there was nothing quite as exciting as my dad saying he was ordering domino’s. Nowadays, we get pizza much more than back then, but it still gives like this happy vibe.

Last Sunday we went to our fav pizza joint in Fairview, Montana. We discovered this place maaany years ago when we lived in Culbertson, about a half hour northwest of Fairview. One of those tiny towns that you drive through on road trips and wonder how on earth anyone ever lives there. I need to write a post about those days sometime. It seems like a different lifetime!

So anyway, we hadn’t been to powder keg in about a year, so the kids were ecstatic. As was I. Ever since the first time I walked in there and saw their leopard print carpeting, I was in love. The whole atmosphere of this place is the best.

We take the back corner tables by the arcade machines because the kids love to play them and it makes for an easier time waiting for the pizza. If you have kids, you know eating out can be a very terrible stressful experience if the conditions aren’t prime.

So we’ve got good decor going, good entertainment, and then the pizza is amazing. Okay actually the cheese bread is right up there with the pizza. We’ve gotten to the point where we order two large cheese bread and just one large pizza. This cheese bread is unlike any cheese bread you’ve ever had. No words to describe it.

Our favorite go to is the Brazilian taco pizza. They have a few other good ones like the biscuits n gravy, BLT, and the bacon cheeseburger. You can’t try too much crazy when you’re feeding children!

They used to have free ice cream, but that seemed to have gone away when Covid came around. Probably for sanitary reasons and then they just never got it back going. That had always been a highlight for the kids!
After enjoying our pizza, we went back to Williston, attempted to get ice cream at Dairy Queen (line was ridiculously long), tried McDonald’s (their machines were down, surprise surprise), and got Starbucks and pints of umpqa ice cream from Albertsons.

The day ended with a beautiful sunset.
