Dutch baby & Coffee

I’m currently finishing off my coffee, out on my front steps, in the sunshine! Much as I’m over the hot weather at this time of year, figured I’ll soak up some vitamin D while I can. Although the bees keep coming at me. 🐝

I did my workout this am and then went into the kitchen to bake up some Dutch babies, the house quiet as everyone else slept. I always forget how easy these are to make, and they taste like heaven!

I’ve had the recipe in my little notecard recipe book for years and I’m not certain where I wrote it down from. I suspect it was a Taste of Home cookbook, not one hundred percent certain. So, credit of this recipe is not mine.

Preheat oven to 425.

In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup half and half, 2 eggs, and a dash of cinnamon.

Use a hand mixer to thoroughly blend.

In a pie pan, melt 3 tbsp butter while your oven is preheating. Or once it’s preheated.

Pour your batter into the pie pan. Sprinkle brown sugar around the edges and slightly in the center.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

For the whipped cream to top them off, beat 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 tbsp sugar, and 2 tsp vanilla in a stand mixer until it forms peaks. It’ll take about five minutes or so.

Add some whipped cream and pure maple syrup to your Dutch baby and you’re good to go! 😊

I also made some bacon for the side. Always need to have some salty with the sweet!

And my new coffee I’ve been making as of late. I make two espresso shots with my aeropress. Then put about 1/2 cup of almond nog, almond milk egg nog, into a separate cup. I bought a super cool milk frother whisk thing on Amazon and it makes the egg nog all light and fluffy. Then I just pour it on top of my espresso, add some ice, and done!

Hope you guys have a lovely week!
