National park roadtrip season is coming in hot! I’m so excited to get on the road! I’ve spent the winter just dreaming about our adventures to be had this year. I’m debating if we can swing a Grand Teton road trip next month, we’ll see. I’ve never been there and it looks amazing. Aaaand I’ve already found a boutique motel to stay at there! 😂
We have been stopping at Glacier National Park for the past three years en route to Washington and have stayed in three different boutique hotels. Each in one of the major towns nearby the park. Kalispell, Whitefish, and Columbia Falls. I spend so much time looking for the perfect place to stay and honestly, I’m never disappointed. It really really pays to do a lot of scouting before you settle on a place.
It’s a bit more difficult for me to find hotels to stay with so many kids, as most places are max of four people. I mean, a queen bed can easily fit four small children. You just have to have them sleep laying the long way 😏 I always add a note on the booking page that I have additional children and haven’t ever had an issue with that. Since last summer, we have started bringing a twin air mattress for my oldest if there’s only two queen beds and thats worked out perfectly.
So let’s get into it!
1. Greenwood Village Inn & Suites in Kalispell, MT.
This was the hotel we stayed at on our first ever trip to Glacier. It’s about 45 minutes from the park, but near restaurants and shopping and everything else. Super good base camp. It’s got incredibly cozy and homey rooms, sort of an old fashioned vibe. The main area has all kinds of fun animals on display that the kids absolutely loved! The rooms are large and you could definitely fit pack n plays, twin air mattresses, whatever! We’ve stayed here two different years and both times were amazing.

2. Chalet Inn Whitefish in Whitefish, MT
This boutique hotel is definitely my favorite stay while visiting Glacier National Park! It is gorgeous. From the moment you drive in. The office is adorable, decorated with the cutest accents and pops of color. The rooms are an eclectic style with a mix of modern and vintage decor. And when we went, they had a dog roaming around that just made the kids day. I love love love it here and will totally be staying here again sometime!

3. Wonderstone At Glacier in Columbia Falls, MT.
This was from our most recent trip to Glacier last summer! My brother in law actually found this one as we’d been planning to meet them for a night out there. I was quite impressed when he presented it to me, saying he knew I’d like it! Of course I did. Another hotel that gave me all the happy eclectic vibes! The rooms were simple with gorgeous furniture and decor. Vintage mini fridges. The showers were so cool! I loved this place. And it was also quite close to Glacier National Park! Only about a 15 minute drive. Plus Columbia Falls has Montana Coffee Traders and Mudman Burgers, two of my favs.

If you’re ever planning a trip to Glacier National Park, I highly recommend checking out one of these motels! If you’re anything like me, lover of cute things, you won’t regret it.
