Broken dryer, dirty dough, new pet

A fun rundown of the week.

My dryer broke down so I have clothes drying all over my house. Literally everywhere I can hang clothes, there are clothes hanging! Dining room table chairs, banister, hanging from bathroom shower rods. My oldest said it looks like we are having a garage sale. Such a terrible thing to have down when there’s eight people in the house, and we leave on our trip out west soon! The washer dryer set I want to buy has to be special ordered to Minot, and then picked up from there, so I won’t be able to get that before we leave. And no, I will not use the laundromat. It grosses me out thinking of all the nasty stuff random people are washing in those. Especially here with all the dirty oilfield clothes. I got a clothes drying rack today so there’s a little extra hanging space! 🙈

The beginning of the week, Freya and I went and checked out our new cookie shop, dirty dough. It was pretty good, if not a little too sweet! I know, cookies are supposed to be sweet, but this is like crumbl x 2. Def can’t eat as much of them as you can with crumbl. Side note, I totally see why crumbl is suing them, they taste darn near identical, except they’re filled. That’s why they’re a little much to handle. But the shop is cute and smells divine. It’s fun to have something like that here anyway for a treat!

I brought the kids out on a couple walks and rollerblading during the week! It’s so fun getting back to that again. Last summer, Freya was too little for my stroller, so we didn’t do any of our walks. She loves riding it in now! There’s this gorgeous peony bush at the end of my street that I caught budding on the first walk, and then bloomed on the second. It’s so pretty! My friend just informed me that ants bloom those flowers. So cool.

We got pizza from Williston Brewing Company Friday night! Pub style pizza might be my new fav.

Today we adopted a new pet into our home. A moth. 😂 So my almost five year old and I were sitting outside enjoying the sun and I saw something fluttering in the grass. I said oh look a baby monarch butterfly! My daughter ran to get something to catch it, but she didn’t dare, so I trapped it. We brought it inside all excited to show everyone. My husbands like, that’s a moth. I’m like no look at the markings, it’s a baby monarch! He’s like no, it’s a moth. The disrespect! (Im getting good at the kids slang terms nowadays) My eleven year old just came to tell me its name is ghost. She’s been researching moths and feeding it all day. It’s got a home in a plastic jar. So yep, we now have a pet moth. That looks like a baby monarch. 🤣

I’m already feeling like summer is pretty much over with all the plans made! We will be out west for a couple weeks. I’ll be home then for less than a week before heading to Minnesota with the kids. Our church has our summer services, so we will be there for that. Then my sister gets married two weeks later, so I’m just going to stick around. I’ll be there most of July! Then home for a bit before heading back to Minnesota and then our cabin in Michigan. I’m so excited for it all though! Summer trips are what make winters bearable. Usually by October, I’m ready to be back in hoodies and cozying up. With some trips thrown in here and there!

Now to spend the rest of the week hanging laundry, cleaning, packing, oil change, finishing my current cardigan design, and drinking coffee. Hope you all had a fab weekend!
