St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and Fort DeSoto, Florida

A couple days before Easter, we packed up and headed to Minnesota a day earlier than planned, to beat yet another spring winter storm.

Saturday was spent running last minute errands for the trip, getting one last tanning bed session in (I didn’t want to burn this trip, but I did anyway) and preparing things for the kids while we were gone. This was the first time I’ve ever left my 2 year old, so I was stressing.

4 am Easter morning, we headed to Minneapolis international airport, breezed through security, grabbed some caribou coffee and awaited to board our flight to Tampa.

I spent the flight attempting to read my latest book, The Truth About the Devlins by Lisa Scottoline, and watching the flight progress on the flight tracker screen. Super entertaining.

After landing half hour early (thank goodness!) then immediately texting to check on my kids, we got more coffee in the Tampa airport, picked up our rental car, and headed off to Treasure Island.

We stayed at the Tahitian Resort, an adorable boutique motel in Treasure Island. I like to switch up where we stay each time, and I’d actually never had this place pop up before, so I’m assuming it’s typically booked out.

The St Pete Beach strip consists of Pass-A-Grille on the tippy end, St Pete Beach, Treasure Island, and Madeira Beach/John’s Pass. We visit basically every area of the strip at some point every day. St Pete for breakfast and shops, Pass-A-Grille for the beach, John’s Pass area for the cigar/coffee shop and food, Treasure Island for sleeping and walking. It’s paradise. This was our fourth trip to St Pete beach and the worst timed, unfortunately. But it was a good break from the cold and life!

First order of business after reaching St Pete Beach, was eating at the fabulous Crabby Bills!

A coffee cup I didn’t drink out of because I don’t drink hot coffee, but it was cute

The cigar shop in John’s Pass. Always fun to watch them hand rolling cigars!
I can say without a doubt, Cigar Paradise has the best coffee in the entire area.
We walked from our motel to John’s Pass every evening as there was never any parking because you know, spring break. The view on the drawbridge was always cool though! And we walked 34 miles in the days we were there.
Even got to be right next to it when it went up at one point. So crazy how the road literally just lifts up.
No throwing missiles on this beach.

We arrived back to my moms late Thursday evening, slept a few hours, then headed back home Friday morning! Now I have less than a few weeks to prepare for my Florida trip to Fort Myers with my mom and sisters! Really excited for that now. I haven’t been to that area of Florida yet nor have I ever been on a girls trip! Can’t wait.
